Marc Klok: Persib-Persija duel worth 6 points

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung captain Marc Klok has his own assessment ahead of the hot duel against Persija Jakarta. He said that the match was special and had more value for the pride of the team and the city of Bandung.

Persib Bandung will host Persija Jakarta in the 17th week of the 2025/2026 Super League. This classic duel is scheduled to take place at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) on Sunday, January 11 at 15.30 WIB.

Appearing in a match labeled with a lot of prestige, Klok assessed that the meeting with Persija was different from other matches. Klok, who also defended Macan Kemayoran, even said this match was worth six points.

Moreover, based on the standings, Persija currently ranks second and Persib is in third place. Both teams have collected 35 points.

This situation makes this match very crucial, especially for Persib who perform in front of their own supporters.

"But if you look at the standings, it's also very close now, we are also very close, this match is not for three points but for six points, yes for this team it is very crucial," said Marc Klok quoted Sunday, January 11.

Ahead of hosting Persija, Klok also said that Maung Bandung's preparations were optimal. The players are in good condition and enthusiastic about welcoming a prestigious match.

"Good condition, good preparation, we are complete, we are very enthusiastic and hungry, to play in this match. This match is special, this is no longer a match for the standings, a match for pride, for rivalry, for this city, and for pride," continued Klok as quoted from the ILeague website.

On the other hand, Klok is also wary of Persija's strength who this season have performed solidly under coach Mauricio Souza. The presence of a number of quality players is considered to make Persija a difficult opponent to defeat.

"There are many qualities, this season they are also appealing last season but this match is very close, there is a rivalry, there is quality, we will see after 90 minutes who is the better team," said Klok.
