PROJO reminds Pandji Pragiwaksono
JAKARTA - The PROJO organization appreciates Pandji Pragiwaksono's good intentions in delivering criticism through a Mens Rea (evil intent) performance for improvement for Indonesia. However, freedom of expression in the public is not without limits.
"Culturally, the Indonesian people generally do not want something extreme or excessive," said Deputy Chairperson of the DPP PROJO Cahaya Sinaga in Jakarta today, Saturday (10/01/2026).
PROJO sees the prosecutor's mistake in the Mens Rea performance proving that Pandji can make mistakes. In fact, other mistakes are very likely to occur.
Cahaya Sinaga assessed that Pandji should not attack or physically harass Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka who was the object of his bath. It is more appropriate for Pandji to discuss the policies or performance of Vice President Gibran, rather than bothering to question things that are not related to the fate of the masses.
Cahaya then explained that PROJO understands that for Pandji there are opinions that must be conveyed, communities that must be maintained, and market tastes that must be met.
Comedy is a way of conveying something, whether it's just entertainment or praise, criticism, insults, even anger. Even so, the way to convey criticism can be a problem, instead of the substance.
PROJO reminded Pandji that teasing or mocking someone's physical appearance against anyone, not just state officials, is certainly not justified. Moreover, the Mens Rea market is the middle and upper classes in urban areas.
"PROJO hopes that Pandji Pragiwaksono will continue to work with more enlightening and inspiring content," said Cahaya Sinaga.
