Basarnas Evacuates Czech Foreigner Injured on Kelingking Beach
DENPASAR - Basarnas Bali evacuated a foreign citizen (WNA) of the Czech Republic who was injured on Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency.
"The SAR team evacuated a Czech Republic citizen who was injured while visiting Kelingking Beach named Martelo Romano (50)," said the Coordinator of the Nusa Penida SAR Alert Unit, Cakra Negara, in a statement in Denpasar, Friday.
Cakra Negara explained that based on the information received, the victim was initially walking on the edge of Kelingking Beach, but suddenly a big wave appeared and hit him until he fell.
"After being hit by the waves, the victim fell and had difficulty standing," said Cakra Negara.
Basarnas Bali only received information about the Czech Republic's WNA who was injured on the beach below the cliff at around 15.40 Wita.
At that time, basarnas immediately dispatched four personnel from the Nusa Penida SAR Standby Unit to the location to evacuate the victim.
"They reported because of the difficulty of bringing the victim up the cliff through the stairs with a height of approximately 170 meters," he said.
At 16.45 Wita, the Bali Basarnas team arrived at Kelingking Beach, then went down to the beach to carry out the evacuation process.
During the evacuation, Kelingking Beach was hit by light rain so that the joint SAR team had difficulty going through the steep terrain, considering that from the top of the cliff to the coast requires extra energy to pass through hundreds of wooden stairs.
Finally, the evacuation process was successfully carried out at around 17.35 Wita, after being on the cliff, the victim was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment for his injuries.
"Ambulance from Griya Medika Clinic is on standby and immediately took him to Griya Penida Clinic, according to medical personnel, the victim suffered dislocation in the hip," said Cakra Negara.
The process of evacuating injured beach visitors was also assisted by personnel from the Nusa Penida Police, Balawista Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida, BPBD Klungkung, the Griya Penida medical team, and the community and friends of the victim.
