JAKARTA - The most prestigious running event in the country, the Maybank Marathon, is ready to greet runners again in 2026. Entering its 15th year of organization, the event, which holds the title of World Athletics' Elite Label Road Race, brings great news: a strategic collaboration with global payment giant, Visa, as Title Sponsor.
In the Kick Off event held in Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (8/1), Maybank Indonesia officially announced that the peak event will take place on August 23, 2026 at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar, Bali.
More than Just Running: Sport Tourism and Economic Impact President Director of Maybank Indonesia, Steffano Ridwan, emphasized that the Maybank Marathon is not just a race to chase time records. This event is a manifestation of the "Humanising Financial Services" mission which aims to empower the community and encourage a sustainable lifestyle.
"Through collaboration with Visa, we want to present a running journey that has a positive impact on participants, communities, and the environment. This is our contribution to international standard sports tourism that introduces the beauty of Bali to the world," said Steffano.
