Kemenhut: 1.260 Meter Kubik Kayu Didata Bagi Pemanfaatan di Aceh Utara
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) reported that it had listed 769 logs of driftwood swept away by floods with a total volume of 1,260.49 cubic meters to be used by residents affected by disasters in North Aceh, Aceh Province.
"We sort the driftwood in the residents' yards and in the dead river to be used, especially to support the construction of temporary housing," said Head of the Gunung Leuser National Park (BBTNGL) Subhan in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.
The figure shows the number of wood inventory as of Thursday (8/1) as part of handling wood dragged by floods in Langkahan District, North Aceh Regency.
At the location, 87 Kemenhut personnel were deployed with the support of 38 heavy equipment owned by Kemenhut, TNI, and the Ministry of Public Works for post-disaster handling. Activities are focused on sorting wood in the yard of residents so that it can be utilized.
The utilization of wood in North Aceh has been used by the Rumah Zakat institution for the construction of nine huntara, with a breakdown of 8 units still in the construction process and one unit has been completed.
In addition, 54 personnel from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Saka Wanabakti also cleaned educational facilities in the area.
For the North Sumatra region, wood sorting in the Garoga area has reached 100 percent in Garoga I, Garoga II, and Garoga III, and 80 percent on the Garoga Village, Huta Godang, and Aek Ngadol routes.
The results of wood processing as of Thursday (8/1) reached 228 logs with a volume of 3.1560 cubic meters, so that the total accumulation became 793 logs with a volume of 12.0035 cubic meters, which is intended for the construction of huntara in Batu Hula Village, Batang Toru District.
In addition to the utilization of wood, the activities also include environmental arrangement and land clearing for the huntara and permanent residence plans in the area of PTPN IV Desa Aek Pining with a plan of 15 hectares, with the realization of land opening to date of around 1.028 hectares.
