Support the Governor of DKI's Direction, Jakpro Continues to Manage Sports Infrastructure to Public Spaces

JAKARTA - Jakpro continues a number of strategic assignments related to the management of sports infrastructure, public spaces, and strengthening the urban transportation system carried out in line with the direction of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.

Jakpro President Director, Iwan Takwin, said the optimization of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) as the official headquarters of Persija Jakarta was carried out through the orderly and integrated management of the area, supported by the strengthening of public transportation connectivity.

"JIS is now not only an icon of national sports, but also a public space that adds social and economic value to the city," said Iwan, Saturday, January 10.

Iwan said that on the social side, namely regarding the completion of the transition of former Bayam Village residents to Operational Support Workers (HPPO) Housing in the JIS area, it has been carried out with a humanistic approach.

Apart from JIS, Jakpro is also optimizing the Jakarta Velodrome as a multipurpose venue that is adaptive and inclusive.

Throughout 2025, the Velodrome will be used for various national and international scale activities, ranging from international sports competitions such as the 2025 SEA V League, Mobile Legends esports competitions, music concerts, to community activities such as the Jakarta Drum Corps International.

Iwan said, this utilization strengthens the function of the Velodrome as an active public space that supports social interaction, creative economy, and a dynamic urban lifestyle.

"In supporting the strengthening of urban mobility, Jakpro also carried out the assignment of the construction of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B, which to date continues to move beyond the target with a positive deviation of 89.22% as of December 31, 2025," he said.

This project is an important part of strengthening an efficient, reliable, and sustainable public transportation system. Operating on electric power, the Jakarta LRT plays a significant role in reducing carbon emissions per passenger per kilometer compared to private vehicles.

The increase in the number of users of the Jakarta LRT also shows a shift in people's behavior towards public transportation, which has an impact on reducing congestion and reducing the city's carbon footprint.

Collectively, the operation of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1A and 1B is projected to achieve a reduction in emissions of 2,927,250 tons of CO₂e, with a target of increasing the number of passengers to 18 million passengers by 2028.

Apart from the transportation sector, Jakpro continues to optimize Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) as a center for art, culture, and education.

During the year-end holiday period from December 22, 2025 to January 3, 2026, the TIM area recorded 67,198 visitors, with the Jakarta Planetarium as one of the science and space education centers developed with international standards.

The strengthening of the TIM ecosystem is also marked by the presence of the Raden Saleh Pavilion, a collaboration between Jakpro and Artotel Group, which supports the activities of artists, the creative economy, and the organization of national and international cultural art activities.

"Jakpro has made a real contribution to supporting the transformation of Jakarta into a global city by responding to various urban development needs, ranging from providing decent and comfortable living spaces, strengthening the attractiveness of tourism and cultural interaction, to managing clean, comfortable, and sustainable public spaces," he said.

These efforts are strengthened through increased accessibility and intra- and inter-city connectivity, strengthening the global connected urban economy, and developing the capacity for sustainable urban innovation.

All of these steps are carried out as part of Jakpro's commitment to bring about development that is integral, has a real impact, and is sustainable for Jakarta.

"Through the consistent implementation of GCG and the implementation of strategic assignments that are measurable, Jakpro is committed to delivering development that has a real impact and supporting the transformation of Jakarta into an inclusive, sustainable, and competitive global city," he said.
