KSAD Checks Schools to Flood Refugee Post in Central Tapanuli

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak reviewed schools and refugee posts affected by flash floods at the end of November 2025 in Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra.

The review was carried out on Friday (9/1) to ensure the condition of the people affected by the disaster, the readiness of educational facilities, and strengthen coordination with local governments and related parties.

Reported by ANTARA, the KSAD together with the Commander of the I/Bukit Barisan Army, Major General Hendy Antariksa, the Commander of the 023/Kawal Samudera, the Commander of the 0211/Tapanuli Tengah, and the Regent of Tapanuli Tengah Masinton Pasaribu reviewed SD Negeri 1A and 1B in Tukka Village.

At the school, General Maruli handed over educational assistance in the form of one unit of drilling machine and school supplies. This assistance is expected to ensure the availability of clean water as well as support the smooth learning process after the disaster.

In addition, the assistance is also expected to increase the comfort of students and teachers, as well as be a stimulus for the community to immediately restore educational facilities that are affected by disasters.

After that, the KSAD reviewed the Simpang Sipange Refugee Post and emergency school. KSAD reviewed the conditions of refugees, service facilities, and the temporary learning process for students affected by the disaster.

Maruli emphasized the importance of careful planning in post-disaster recovery, especially for the education sector, housing, basic facilities, and the provision of clean water in schools.

A total of 35 units of heavy equipment, including 10 jacking trucks, were deployed to accelerate the recovery process in the affected areas, especially Central Tapanuli Regency.

He hopes that the presence of the TNI AD can provide a sense of security as well as help accelerate the recovery of people's lives.

In addition, he also emphasized the importance of hard work and collaboration with the community so that recovery goes quickly and the results are targeted.
