After the Flood, the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road will be repaired until January 20, 2026

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK will carry out maintenance and handling on the Binjai-Langsa Toll until January 20, following the recent floods and landslides in a number of areas that have an impact on access and infrastructure conditions.

"Our target is that all work will be completed by no later than January 20, 2026, while still prioritizing the safety of road users and officers in the field," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Mardiansyah quoted from a written statement, Saturday, January 10.

This is done to ensure that toll road services are optimal again and road users' journeys remain safe and comfortable.

Maintenance activities are focused on restoring road conditions and handling affected points so that service functions can run normally in general.

The improvement of the post-disaster condition return is at KM 69+400-KM 69+500 Route B (direction Langsa to Binjai), KM 33+350-KM 34+000 Route A (direction Binjai to Langsa), KM 36+000-KM 37+000 and KM 37+000 Route B.

The work carried out includes the repair of u-ditch or concrete drainage channels and perimeter or edge channels, filling, conditioning and strengthening using concrete boxes and geotextiles, slope filling, compaction and conditioning again, the application of the solid sodding method, installation of steel sheet piles so that the quality of service can return to optimal.

During the work, HK implemented traffic arrangements around the work site, installed warning patrols and provided information to road users through VMS and official communication channels.

All work is carried out in accordance with the safety standards of working on toll roads, including securing the work area so that the impact on traffic flow remains under control.

The Company also optimizes the inspection and rapid response team to identify potential damage and carry out immediate handling, especially at points that require post-disaster attention.

"We apologize for any inconvenience that may arise during the maintenance process. We urge road users to remain vigilant, comply with signs and instructions from officers, and adjust their speed when passing through the work area," he added.
