Minister of Defense Visits Turkish Military Leaders to Discuss Defense Cooperation

JAKARTA - The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin met with Turkish military leaders to discuss various cooperation in the defense sector.

The meeting took place when Sjafrie was on a series of working visits to Turkey, specifically at the ASELSAN complex, Ankara.

Reported by ANTARA, Sjafrie met with the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces to discuss several things, one of which was cooperation in the development of the military industry.

According to Sjafrie, Indonesia considers Turkey as a strategic partner in efforts to strengthen national defense independence.

Therefore, Sjafrie hopes that cooperation can be directed to support the development of a sustainable defense industry ecosystem, the improvement of soldier professionalism, and the strengthening of defense capacity in the face of global strategic environmental dynamics.

After discussing the plan for cooperation in the defense industry, Sjafrie and his staff also took the time to visit the Turkish defense industry facility at ASELSAN to obtain an overview of the capabilities and development of defense technology owned by Turkey.

This visit is part of efforts to expand understanding and open opportunities for more concrete cooperation in the future.

With this visit, Sjafrie hopes that the military relations between Indonesia and Turkey will continue to be well established in order to establish cooperation in the field of defense industry that can benefit both parties.
