The South Tangerang City Government Pays Rp90 Million/Day to Dispose of Waste to Cileungsi
JAKARTA - The South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot), Banten, claims that 200 tons of waste are dumped into the landfill (TPA) managed by PT Aspex Kumbong in Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, West Java by paying Rp. 90 million per day.
"The quota is 200 tons, with a levy of Rp. 450 thousand. Yes (per ton)," said Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang, Pilar Saga Ichsan in Tangerang, Friday, January 9, reported by ANTARA.
He explained that through the business cooperation in waste processing with PT Aspex Kumbong which is located on Jalan Raya Narogong, Cileungsi, it was agreed that the payment of tolls by the South Tangerang City Government was Rp. 90 million per day.
This step, said Pilar, has also been known by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) as a short-term handling effort so that garbage does not pile up in public spaces.
"While waiting for the construction process at the Cipeucang landfill, we are cooperating between regions. The same thing that DKI Jakarta has done with Bekasi and this is actually common. However, we have limits because this is not possible to continue. And for now, waste management cooperation is not with Cileungsi but with the company," he explained.
In addition to waiting for the implementation of the construction of a waste shredder facility at the Cipeucang landfill, Serpong, the South Tangerang City Government must have 5,000 square meters of land through cooperation between sectors including the surrounding community.
"Now buying land is also a process for the community. Buying land does not necessarily mean buying tomorrow," he explained.
In addition, for the planned waste processing project into electricity (PSEL) in Cipeucang requires an area of 5 hectares. Therefore, the short-term solution for waste in Tangerang is temporarily disposed of in the Cileungsi area through business cooperation with local companies.
"But there is a limit. We are looking for the most effective, efficient cooperation, which is the most profitable," he said.
