MATARAM - A total of five heads of regional organizations (OPD) in the environment of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government were demoted from their positions (demotion) in a mutation carried out by the NTB Governor, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal.

The five officials who were demoted from level II to level III, including Najamuddin Amy, Head of the Economic Bureau, became Head of Institutional, Quality Assurance Cooperation and Learning Transformation at the NTB BPSMD, Khairul Akbar from the Head of the Adpim Bureau of the Setda to Head of the Aquaculture Infrastructure Department at the NTB Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service.

Then, Subhan Hasan from the Governor's Expert Staff for Economic Finance Infrastructure and Development became the Head of the Social Empowerment Division at the NTB Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Social Service, and the Head of the NTB Industrial Service Nuryanti became the Head of the Deposit, Procurement, Management and Library Service of the NTB Library and Archives Service.

Head of the NTB Communication and Information and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik), Ahsanul Khalik, said the mutation was in accordance with procedures and laws and regulations. This is evidenced by the technical approval given by the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).

"The process is already underway and that's what we're waiting for, so it will take a while until this happens," Ahsanul Khalik told reporters at the NTB Governor's Palace, reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 9.

He explained that the demotion of a number of officials from level II to level III was after seeing the results of the performance evaluation of each head of the OPD for the last 10 months. Especially, those directly related to the interests of the community that were judged to be less.

"There are the most basic things that demotion is carried out, mainly it has to do with tasks that are directly related to the interests of the community. Because when the performance is directly related to the community, there is a commitment to carry out work in the field of his duties yesterday," he said.

He gave an example of a program that should have been received by the public in June or July, but until September 2025 it was not executed, so that the public was harmed due to the delay.

However, for those who were demoted, they were given the opportunity to improve their performance.

"Every 3 months, the governor will evaluate performance. There is an integrity pact that will be signed, even given the opportunity to run for 1 year. If he can prove his performance well, he will have the opportunity to participate in the selection of the second echelon for the next position," said Ahsanul Khalik.

It is known that a total of 29 officials were transferred by the Governor of NTB, consisting of 21 officials of level II and 8 officials of level III. Of the 21 level II officials, five of them were demoted or demoted to level III.

Previously, NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal said that this inauguration was the result of an evaluation of performance for more than 10 months.

According to Iqbal, the arrangement of positions was carried out to ensure that the NTB Provincial Government bureaucracy works more effectively, professionally, and in line with the regional development vision and the vision of the central government.

"I don't have any political burden with anyone. The assessment is carried out objectively based on loyalty to the leadership vision, commitment, and performance," he said.
