PBNU Soal Pandji Pragiwaksono: Kita Butuh Banyak Ketawa di Negeri Ini
JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama General Board (PBNU), KH Ulil Abshar Abdalla, quoting his statement on NU Online, confirmed that the alliance in the name of the NU Youth Force (AMNU) which reported Pandji Pragiwaksono was not part of PBNU. However, he responded to what Pandji said in the show titled 'Mens Rea' as entertainment.
Gus Ulil, his nickname, regretted that a comedian who was tasked with entertaining the public had to face legal proceedings.
"We need a lot of laughter in this country. It's a pity that comedians who make a lot of people laugh have to be reported to the law enforcement. Humor is a koentji," he wrote.
Previously, Rizki Abdul Rahman Wahid who represented the NU Youth Force Presidium stated that he had reported comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono to the Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, in the early hours.
Rizki said the report was related to Pandji's stand-up comedy material in a performance titled Mens Rea which offended the government's granting of mining concessions to NU. He assessed Pandji's statement that the concession was a "ransom" had harmed NU.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, confirmed the police report. The report was registered with the number LP/B/166/I/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.
Budi added that at present, investigators are still clarifying the parties concerned and analyzing evidence before determining the next legal steps.
