The Minister of Law and Human Rights will Check the Report on Pandji Pragiwaksono to the Police: Read the Criminal Code, Does it Meet the Elements?

JAKARTA - The Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas said his party would study the issue related to the reporting of comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono to the police because of the criticism he made in the comedy show "Mens Rea".

The Minister of Law and Human Rights admitted that he did not know the details of the case reported against Pandji. According to him, all parties need to pay attention to the provisions in the Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP).

"See, read the Criminal Code, read the Criminal Procedure Code, roughly meet the elements? What is regulated in it," said Supratman as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 9.

He declined to comment further on the reported criminal elements.

"I don't know yet, we'll see what the case is," he said.

Previously, the single comedian or Komika Indonesia Pandji Pragiwaksono was reported by a party on behalf of the Indonesian Youth Movement and the Muhammadiyah Youth Alliance to the Polda Metro Jaya regarding allegations of defamation of the Islamic organization.

"We consider that the person I reported, whose initials are P, is considered to have spread issues that are not positive, has degraded, defamed, especially the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, namely NU and Muhammadiyah," said the reporter Rizki Abdul Rahman Wahid who represented the Young Generation of Nahdhatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah.

Rizki also explained that in his narration the reporter considered NU and Muhammadiyah to be involved in practical politics.

Polda Metro Jaya also stated that it would analyze a number of evidence regarding the case of reporting comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono regarding defamation of the Islamic organization.
