Indosat Records 15 Percent Traffic Increase during the 2026 Nataru Period

JAKARTA - During the Christmas and New Year 2026 period (December 21, 2025 - January 1, 2026), Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison recorded a 15% increase in data traffic compared to normal days.

This effort is strengthened by network optimization supported by the Digital Intelligence Operations Center (DIOC), an artificial intelligence (AI) based operations center that enables real-time monitoring of network performance.

This technology enables adaptive capacity adjustments in areas experiencing traffic growth, ensuring customers continue to enjoy a reliable and high-quality digital experience across Indonesia.

"The surge in usage is no longer limited to major cities, but also occurs in tourist destinations, emerging economic centers, and areas that previously had limited digital activity," said Desmond Cheung, Director and Chief Technology Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.

This period also saw an increase in the popularity of digital services, with the five apps that recorded the highest usage growth being TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

This effort is supported by more than 208,000 4G BTS and 1,404 5G BTS that have been deployed throughout the country, with 4G BTS growth of 7.7% year-on-year, which is further expanding service coverage for customers throughout Indonesia.
