Olivia Rodrigo's Special Performance for the Five Year Celebration of drivers license

JAKARTA - American pop star Olivia Rodrigo celebrates five years of her triumphant journey since the release of the song that changed her music career, drivers license.

As is known, "drivers license" was first introduced as a single on January 8, 2021. The song was the opening track of her debut album, "Sour", which was released four months later.

Through his Instagram account, Rodrigo uploaded several photos of himself taken from the music video for the song.

"Happy fifth birthday 'drivers license'!!! Looking at these photos, I feel like a baby, but it also feels like it was just yesterday," wrote Rodrigo, quoting the caption of the upload, Friday, January 9.

The 22-year-old musician also admitted the big role of the song in his musical journey.

"This song really changed my life in a way that I still find hard to understand," Rodrigo said.

"I am forever grateful for this magical chapter and I can't wait to scream 'red lights stop signs' with you at every concert I will play for the rest of my life," he continued.

In another post, Rodrigo also celebrated the fifth anniversary of the album "Sour". The surprise was presented by collaborating with other musicians to perform covers of songs from the album.

"Sour is turning five this year! And to celebrate, I'm so excited to announce a series of covers of 'Sour' songs arranged by some of my favorite artists," he said. "We start off very strong with a stunning arrangement of 'drivers license' from one of my all-time heroes, David Byrne."

Rodrigo even admitted to being touched by the involvement of the Talking Heads vocalist. A physical release has also been prepared for this celebration.

"David is a legend and I really cried when I heard his version of this song," said Rodrigo.

"You can listen to it now or order a 7-inch vinyl with the song cover and our version of 'Burning Down The House' from Gov Ball. I'm so excited!! Please listen," he concluded.
