OJK Starts Data on Debtors Affected by Disasters for Restructuring
JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) will prepare a special treatment scheme for debtors affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra.
Chairman of the OJK Commission Board Mahendra Siregar said that in accordance with OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 19 of 2022, financial services institutions have begun to collect data on debtors who are entitled to the policy.
"In accordance with POJK Number 19, 2022, we can provide an update that financial services institutions have carried out data collection on debtors who can take advantage of the special treatment in question," he said in a press conference on the results of the December 2025 Monthly Board of Commissioners (RDK) Meeting, Friday, January 9.
He added that some of the affected debtors had entered the stage of preparing a restructuring agreement.
Mahendra said OJK would also continue to monitor and report the implementation of the policy periodically.
Previously, OJK also revealed that the value of loans and financing that could be affected by hydrometeorological disasters in the Sumatra region is estimated to be close to Rp. 400 trillion.
Meanwhile, preliminary data showed that around 105,000 debtors were affected, spread across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra provinces.
Mahendra explained that his party had collected data and assessments in the disaster area which showed that the disaster in question had affected the economy in the area and in turn affected the debtor's ability to pay.
"Special treatment is given as part of risk mitigation so that the disaster does not have a systemic impact, and to support the acceleration of the recovery of economic activities in the area," Mahendra said in an online press conference, Thursday, December 11.
He added that the special treatment for bank loans or financing, financing institutions, venture capital companies, microfinance institutions and other financial services institutions provided to affected debtors refers to POJK number 19 of 2022 regarding special treatment for financial services institutions in certain regions and sectors in Indonesia affected by disasters or POJK on disasters.
He detailed that special treatment for credit and financing for debtors affected by disasters includes a ceiling of IDR 1 billion to IDR 10 billion, given credit and financing quality assessments based on payment accuracy.
"Second, the determination of smooth quality of credit or restructured financing. Restructuring can be carried out on financing carried out before and after the debtor is affected by the impact of the disaster.
"For pindar organizers, restructuring can be carried out after receiving approval from the funder," said Mahendra.
Furthermore, the provision of new financing to debtors affected by the determination of credit quality separately for financing loans or the provision of new and non-obligatory funds.
"The relaxation is intended to be valid for a period of up to 3 years from the date of its establishment on December 10, 2025," continued Mahendra.
