Inalum Sets a Record, Aluminum Production Reaches 280,082 Tons Throughout 2025
JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) closed 2025 with a historic achievement.
The state-owned aluminum plate company reported production of 280,082 metric tons (MT) of aluminum.
The achievement marks an all-time high (ATH) record for the only national aluminum producer.
Not only production that jumped, Inalum's aluminum sales also recorded a new record.
Throughout 2025, the company recorded sales of 280,141 MT, surpassing the previous annual record.
Inalum President Director Melati Sarnita said this achievement was the result of business transformation carried out by the company in recent years.
Through the implementation of sustainable innovation, strengthening operational efficiency, and adaptive business strategies.
Melati emphasized that the company would continue to strengthen competitiveness, especially in strategic industries based on mineral downstreaming.
This record achievement comes in a special year for Inalum. In 2026, the company will exactly enter its 50th year of operating in Indonesia.

Melati said the five-decade journey was proof that the company was able to adapt to the dynamics of the global market and the needs of the national industry.

For information, Inalum is the only SOE that operates in the integrated aluminum industry, ranging from hydroelectric power plants (PLTA) to primary aluminum production.
The company was established on January 6, 1976 as a result of cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.
In 2013, full ownership was transferred to the State of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Inalum had a status as a mining industry holding in 2018, before finally becoming a member of the state mining group MIND ID since 2023.
