Nunukan District Attorney Raises Status of Alleged Corruption of DPRD Housing Allowance to Investigation

NUNUKAN - The handling of the case of alleged corruption in housing allowances for members of the Nunukan Regency DPRD for the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year in North Kalimantan (Kaltara) has entered a new phase.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Nunukan District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Arga Bramantyo Cahya Sahertian, confirmed that the case had been officially upgraded to the investigation stage.

"The increase in the status of the case is based on the Investigation Order of the Head of the Nunukan District Prosecutor's Office Number Print-43/O.5.16/Fd.2/08/2025 and PRINT-43/O.4.16/Fd.2/08/2025 dated August 25, 2025," said Arga, Thursday, January 8.

He explained that the investigation involved various parties, ranging from DPRD elements, the Nunukan Regency Government, to other parties who were considered to have a connection with the case.

"Investigators have also named a number of parties as suspects based on the results of the investigation and the evidence that has been collected. However, the identities of the suspects cannot be announced to the public because the legal process is still ongoing," said Arga.

He explained that to ensure and calculate the potential financial losses of the state, the Nunukan District Attorney's Office also involved the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP). The involvement of KJPP was carried out to assess the amount of state losses arising from the provision of housing allowances.

"In addition, investigators have also conducted a search at the Nunukan Regency DPRD Office for the purpose of collecting and securing evidence," he explained.

From the search, continued Arga, a number of documents and items suspected of being directly related to the case were also secured.

"Until now, investigators are still continuing to deepen through the examination of witnesses, the collection and analysis of evidence, and coordination with related parties to complete the case file," said Arga.

Investigators have examined 14 witnesses, consisting of former members of the DPRD, the KJPP party, elements of the DPRD Secretariat, and staff involved in providing housing allowances for the Nunukan Regency DPRD in the 2016-2017 budget period.

"The Nunukan District Attorney is committed to completing the case professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable laws," he said.
