Deny the issue of a coalition that is cracking, Prasetyo Hadi emphasizes the solidity of the political party that supports Prabowo.

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary, who is also the Deputy Secretary General of the DPP Gerindra, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that there was no connection between President Prabowo Subianto's absence as the chairman of the political party during the cabinet retreat in Hambalang, Bogor, last Tuesday (6/1) with the issue of checking the strength of the permanent coalition.

According to Prasetyo, there was no hidden political message behind the moment.

"Nothing. It's just normal. The atmosphere of a meeting sometimes needs refreshing, it can be called ice breaking," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, January 8.

He emphasized that the coalition of government supporters remained solid. Not only parties in parliament, non-parliamentary parties are also said to remain part of the coalition. "We are compact, we are solid," he said.

Regarding the dynamics of party attitudes regarding the indirect gubernatorial discourse, Prasetyo assessed that each party has its own considerations. When asked about the Democratic Party's attitude, he suggested that it should be asked directly to the party concerned.

"We respect the views of each party. There must be studies and calculations," he said.

Prasetyo reminded, the discussion of the Pilkada through the DPRD is not a new issue for the Gerindra Party. Even before Prabowo became president, discussions on revising laws related to the Pilkada mechanism had rolled over.

As the government, said Prasetyo, the Palace continues to open up public aspirations. Responding to the results of the LSI Denny JA survey which said 61 percent of respondents rejected the Pilkada through the DPRD, he emphasized that all opinions would be respected.

"There must be pros and cons. We'll see later," he said.

Regarding Prabowo's meeting with Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Prasetyo ensured that there was no discussion about the Pilkada. "No," he said.
