West Java Chamber of Commerce Complaint Trial Opens, Legality of Elected Chairman Questioned in PN Jaksel
JAKARTA - The first trial of the West Java Regional Chamber of Commerce's lawsuit against the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, January 8, was brief, but immediately raised crucial issues. The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anindya Bakrie, was not present, while the legality of Almer Faiq Rusyidi's leadership was questioned by the judge.
The trial, which was chaired by presiding judge Eman Sulaiman and lasted less than 30 minutes. During the trial, the judge highlighted the inability of the defendant's lawyer to show the Decree (SK) appointing Almer Faiq Rusyidi as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce.
"Where is the SK?" the judge asked the defendant's lawyer, Almer Faiq Rusyidi. Almer's lawyer, Daday Suryamijaya, admitted that the document could not be shown and promised to follow up. The judge then emphasized that without the SK, the defendant's presence could potentially be considered in the name of the individual.
Judge Eman then listed the presence of the parties, both plaintiffs and defendants, including those represented by legal advisors. After the data collection, the trial was postponed and will continue on January 29, 2026 at 10.00 WIB. The judge asked the parties who were not present, including Cucu Sutara and Zoelkifli Adam, to attend the next hearing.
This lawsuit was filed by the Garut and Indramayu Regional Chambers of Commerce. They assessed that the West Java Chamber of Commerce Provincial Consultative Meeting (Muprov) in Bogor on September 24, 2025 was invalid. The chairman of the legal team for the plaintiffs, Roy Sianipar, said that the Muprov violated the AD/ART of the Chamber of Commerce.
In addition, Almer Faiq Rusyidi was considered not to meet the requirements because he had not completed the management as the Chairman of the Bogor Chamber of Commerce and had never been a manager of the West Java Chamber of Commerce.
The issue is getting more complicated because on the same day the Muprov Kadin West Java was held in Bandung. The Bogor Muprov appointed Almer Faiq Rusyidi as chairman, while the Bandung Muprov chose Nizar Sungkar.
In the midst of an unresolved dispute, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) appointed Almer Faiq Rusyidi in Cirebon. The inauguration was attended by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and triggered a continuation of the controversy.
In the lawsuit, the defendants are listed as the General Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie, Deputy General Chairman Taufan Eko Nugroho, Widiyanto Daputro, and Erwin Aksa.
