When Will the US Coup in Venezuela End, Trump: Time Will Answer
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump refused to set a deadline for the end of the cawe-cawe or US intervention in Venezula.
"Only time will tell," he said, as quoted by The New York Times, Thursday, January 8.
When asked by reporters whether the US intervention would end in months, a year, or longer, Trump replied: "I would say much longer".
Instead of talking about the things he often draws on that Venezuela is one of the nests of drug suppliers to the US, Trump actually confirmed that this intervention was related to oil fields for US needs.
"We're going to rebuild it in a very profitable way. We're going to use oil, and we're going to take oil. We're lowering the price of oil, and we're going to give money to Venezuela, which they really need," Trump said.
The US is known to have carried out an aggression and abducted President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from their residence in Ciracas on January 3, 2026.
Not long after that, the vacancy at the top of the government leadership made Delcy Rodriguez as vice president to be appointed as interim president of Venezuela.
