Transjakarta Subsidy 2026 Cut Rp1.1 Trillion, DKI Provincial Government Promises This
JAKARTA - The allocation of Transjakarta subsidies in the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) in 2026 has decreased compared to 2025. This was revealed by the Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Development and City Planning, Nirwono Joga.
It is known that in 2025, the DKI Provincial Government allocated a public service obligation (PSO) budget for Transjakarta tickets of Rp. 4.1 trillion. However, in the 2026 APBD determination, the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI DPRD did cut the Transjakarta subsidy allocation to only Rp. 3.7 trillion.
"It means that there will be a decrease (in the Transjakarta subsidy budget) of Rp1.1 trillion," said Nirwono in a discussion in Jakarta, Thursday, January 8.
Nirwono admitted that this budget reduction was forced by the Provincial Government and the DKI DPRD due to the reduction in transfer budget to the regions (TKD) which includes revenue sharing (DBH) from the central government to the regions.
In Jakarta, the central government cut the budget by Rp15 trillion so that the 2026 APBD, which had been projected to reach Rp95 trillion, had to be reduced to around Rp80 trillion. One of the budget cuts that were affected targeted the transportation sector.
"Well, in 2026, ideally if the Transjakarta service is the same as in 2025, then it needs a budget of around Rp. 4.8 trillion. Meanwhile, due to budget efficiency in the 2026 APBD, it was agreed on a figure of Rp. 3.7 trillion. This is an example of how budget efficiency will also affect public transportation services," said Nirwono.
Therefore, Nirwono said the DKI Provincial Government and DPRD have prepared a scheme to cover the shortfall through the 2026 Amendment APBD.
He said that the additional budget of Rp. 1.1 trillion would be included in the draft amendment to the APBD, which is expected to be discussed in May-June 2026. With this scheme, the subsidy shortfall can be closed in the second semester of the fiscal year.
"This figure will be included in the APBD changes, so that in July or September we can close the shortfall by the end of the year," said Nirwono.
"Because the Governor (Pramono Anung) wants the service to be at least the same as 2025. So the community service is the priority," he added.
