Missing from CES 2026, the Future of Samsung's Ballie Robot is Uncertain

JAKARTA - Ballie, a ball-shaped assistant robot developed by Samsung, is not visible at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas since January 6, 2026. It seems that Samsung is still having trouble developing the robot.

Since six years ago, Ballie has been touted as a sophisticated home technology. With the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), this robot that can move and interact is expected to control smart home devices, monitor pets at home, and more.

This robot was first introduced at CES 2020 and disappeared for four years. When it reappeared at CES 2024, Ballie looked more sophisticated, especially with AI integration. The device was promised to be released last summer, but until now, the tiny robot is still invisible.

Many parties have been looking forward to the arrival of this round robot, even at CES 2026. Unfortunately, the South Korean company did not exhibit Billie and only introduced various other technology prototypes, including the Jet Bot Steam Ultra vacuum cleaner.

They also did not mention the development of the robot. This makes some parties suspect that Samsung decided to stop the Ballie project without an official announcement. However, this was denied in a statement.

In December 2025, an unnamed Samsung official stated that they were still optimistic about Ballie's development. Launching from Sammobile, the official said, "(we) continue to refine and improve the technology to provide a more impactful experience."

We can still be optimistic with Billie's presence because the Ballie registration page is still active on Samsung's official US website. However, the page does not record the launch schedule so fans have to wait without certainty.
