Hit by Strong Wind, Several Cafes on Jimbaran Beach Experience Damage
BADUNG - A number of cafes in the Jimbaran area, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, were damaged after being hit by strong winds.
South Kuta Police Chief, Kompol I Komang Agus Dharmayana, said South Kuta Police personnel visited the scene of the damage to a number of cafes in the Cafe 9 area, Jimbaran Beach Road.
"We are here to ensure that the situation remains safe and conducive, and to coordinate across related agencies to handle post-incident situations. We also appeal to the public and business actors to be more alert to extreme weather that can occur at any time," he said, Thursday, January 8.
During the activity, Bhabinkamtibmas Jimbaran Village together with Babinsa and community environment officers (Linmas) accompanied the South Kuta Sub-district Head, Jimbaran Village Head, and the head of the Jimbaran Traditional Village, to directly review the location of the disaster.
Based on the results of field checks, it was found that the damage was caused by strong winds that hit the area around 03.00 WITA on Thursday (8/1) morning.
Several cafes in the Cafe 9 area suffered damage in the form of a roof that was broken by alderon, so that it could not be used for a while.
The cafes that were affected by the damage include Kafe Nyoman, Kafe Lia, Kafe Denas, Kafe Bayang, Kafe Bambu, and Kafe Jimbaran Beach.
"The damage that occurred was material, and until now there has been no human casualties," he added.
Bhabinkamtibmas Jimbaran Village also coordinated with the cafe managers and local village officials, as well as giving advice to the community to remain vigilant against the potential for extreme weather that could still occur.
"Currently, the process of cleaning the debris of the affected cafe building is still waiting for further handling from the Badung Regency BPBD. In general, the situation at the scene is monitored to be safe and under control," he said.
