iPhone 16 Pro Jambret Perpetrator in Kelapa Gading Baru 1 Month Free from Cipinang Prison, Police Say Addicted to Methamphetamine

JAKARTA - The executor of the jambret with the initials D who took away the iPhone 16 pro belonging to a church congregation woman turned out to be a repeat offender who had just been released from Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta.

The man with tattoos all over his body was only released from the Cipinang Penitentiary (Lapas) 1 month ago for a case of snatching and sharp weapons.

"He is a resident of the jambret and sajam case, but one LP, the Kelapa Gading Police also arrested. Just a month ago he was released from Cipinang, yesterday he played again," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim to VOI.

From the results of the investigators' examination, suspect D already has a family. However, the results of his crime were used to buy methamphetamine.

"The result is to buy drugs, for nyabu," he said.

Suspect D is known to often act in the Sunter, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta area. However, during yesterday's incident, D and R actually acted in the Kelapa Gading area.

"The perpetrator usually plays in Sunter. The perpetrator has tattoos all over his body, he is a repeat offender. When arrested, D fought against officers so that a measured and firm action was taken," said AKP Kiki.

Two pieces of hot lead also hit the right and left calves of suspect D.

Suspect D was forced to be paralyzed because he resisted the officers when he was arrested and tried to escape. Meanwhile, the suspect with the initials R is still being hunted.

"The victim suffered injuries due to the incident and experienced trauma," he said.

The suspect was charged with Article 479 paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).
