Samsung Emphasizes the Importance of Trust in the Use of AI at CES 2026
JAKARTA - In the Samsung Tech Forum session at the CES 2026 event, leaders at global technology companies revealed that trust is a key factor in the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
The discussion forum highlighted how transparency, security, and user control are the main foundations of the use of AI in everyday life.
Open Machine CEO Allie K. Miller said that when it comes to artificial intelligence, users want transparency and can control their own data.
"They want to be in control of their personalized experiences - understanding whether AI models run only on devices or in the cloud, ensuring their data is secure, and seeing clearly what features AI supports and which ones don't," he said.
On this occasion, Samsung emphasized the need for a trust-by-design approach, which is designing AI so that it can be predictable, transparent, and easy for users to control.
The company emphasizes the use of AI on-device to process personal data locally whenever possible, while cloud-based technology is only used selectively when greater speed and scale are needed.
This approach is considered to provide flexibility without sacrificing privacy, especially in the midst of AI which is now present in various devices, ranging from mobile phones, televisions, to household appliances.
Samsung's Group Head of AI Platform Center, Shin Baik, emphasized that trust in AI must come from a proven security system.
"Trust begins with security, not just a claim. However, trust is not enough to be built on one device alone, but through an ecosystem that protects each other," he said.
