Persija Vs Persib, Pramono: I Just Watch from TV
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to the football match between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta which will be held at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), on Sunday, January 11.
Pramono admitted that he chose to watch the match on television. The decision was made following an appeal from Jakmania for Persija supporters not to be too present directly at the stadium.
"Because there is a message from Jakmania not to be too many (Persija supporters present at the stadium), I watch it on TV only," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 8.
According to Pramono, as the Governor of Jakarta, he certainly hopes that Persija can perform optimally when traveling to Bandung. However, he emphasized that security and comfort were still the most important thing in the rivalry-filled match.
"Of course, as the Governor of Jakarta, I really hope that Persija can be successful in playing in Bandung. But the most important thing is safety, comfort, and also don't have any clashes or anything," he said.
He also put great hope that the match would run in a conducive manner and uphold sportsmanship. Pramono assessed that the relationship between Persija and Persib should be well maintained, especially by all parties involved.
"Hopefully it can go well, because after all the relationship between Persija and Persib, according to me, especially if I'm the one who is concerned, hopefully it will be fine. So just compete fairly," he said.
"I certainly hope to win as governor. The score is basically winning, how much it wins," continued Pramono.
The Persib vs Persija match in the 17th week of the Super League can be confirmed to be fierce. This is because Persib and Persija are both competing in the champion's lane.
Persija currently occupies second place in the standings with 35 points. Maung Bandung is just below the Kemayoran Tigers with the same points collection.
Both teams are only two points behind the leader, Borneo FC. This means that Persib and Persija's victory in the match will continue to keep the hope of winning the 2025/2026 Super League title.
