Again, Debt Collector Tries to Take Motorcycle on Jalan Cengkareng Area, Owner Calls Call Center

JAKARTA - AK, a motorcyclist, was a victim of extortion carried out by a group of debt collectors near the Al-Ma'Mur Mosque, Jalan Daan Mogot, Immigration Complex, West Cengkareng Village, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta.

There was a debate between the motor owner and the perpetrators. Then the victim reported the incident to the 110 call center service regarding the act of robbery.

Knowing that the victim had reported to the police, the perpetrators' courage suddenly shrank. The perpetrators chose to leave the victim. Members of the Cengkareng Police Reskrim picket immediately came to the scene.

"When the members arrived, the perpetrators had fled. However, when the check was made, the officers found that the incident was reported by the residents," said Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Fernando when confirmed, Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Based on the victim's statement, the incident began when he was riding a motorcycle from Tangerang to Majalengka.

In the middle of the journey, the victim felt followed by a number of people who were suspected of being debt collectors.

"Feeling threatened, the reporter then entered the Immigration Complex area and stopped at the Al-Ma'Mur Mosque to seek protection and ask for help from the surrounding residents," he said.

The victim then contacted the 110 Police Service for further processing. However, the perpetrators chose to leave before the police arrived.

Meanwhile, the case of extortion committed by the debt collector is still under investigation by the Cengkareng Police.
