Richard Lee Admits to Being Sick, Examination of Alleged Consumer Protection Violations Postponed
JAKARTA - The police have postponed further examination of Richard Lee who is a suspect in the case of alleged consumer protection violations. The delay was made after the person concerned complained of poor health conditions.
The Head of the Public Relations and Public Information Sub-Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Reonald Simanjuntak, explained that Richard Lee was present to meet the investigators at the Metro Jaya Police at around 13.00 WIB, Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The examination as a suspect then began at around 14.00 WIB.
"The examination was carried out starting at 14.00 WIB. At 18.00 WIB the examination was temporarily stopped for a rest and resumed at 19.00 WIB," said Reonald to the media at the Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 8, 2026 in the early hours.
According to Reonald, at around 22.00 WIB Richard Lee complained about his poor health condition. At the request of his legal advisor, the investigators then stopped the examination.
"Investigators have asked 73 questions out of a total of 83 questions prepared. The examination was stopped because the person concerned felt unwell before 22.00 WIB," he explained.
Investigators also decided to postpone the next examination, which is planned to be carried out again next week.
Reonald emphasized that until now investigators had not detained Richard Lee. Investigators assessed that the person concerned was still cooperative and always met the call for an examination.
"When asked if there had been an arrest, no arrest had been made against the person concerned," concluded Reonald.
