Already Recorded 100 Appearances in the Indonesian League, Ze Valente Determined to Be More Gacor Again
JAKARTA - PSIM Yogyakarta player Ze Valente has recorded 100 appearances in the Super League. Behind the impressive record, he is still determined to make more appearances.
Ze Valente first made his debut in Indonesia by defending PSS Sleman in 2022. The 100th record was made when he defended PSIM Yogyakarta against PSBS Biak on December 29, 2025.
He then added his record in the Super League to 101 appearances, when he scored the winning goal with a final score of 1-0 against Semen Padang at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Having an impressive record in his performance, Valente is not easily satisfied. He is determined to continue to increase the number as long as he still has the opportunity to perform in the country.
"I want to achieve as much as I can as long as I feel valued here. So, let's see what happens year by year."
"If I can reach 200 matches in this league, I will be very happy," said the Portuguese player, quoted from the official PSIM website on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Regarding the 100th appearance in the highest level competition in Indonesia, Valente said it was a special number. Moreover, he came to Indonesia as a player who had never experienced the atmosphere of Asian football.
"It's just a number, but I think in a league like Indonesia, playing 100 games always feels special because it's not an easy league to survive that long," he said.
Valente started his professional football career in Portugal. During his career, the 31-year-old player only left his country twice, namely when he played in Spain and Cyprus. However, his career journey in both countries did not last long.
On the same occasion, the player born in Paredes, Portugal, also revealed the secret of staying at the top level of Indonesian football.
"We are very dependent on performance, if you don't perform well, you will be replaced. So, I believe this number shows how much dedication I have to football."
"Physical condition, technical quality, and consistency are the hardest things. You won't survive in Indonesia if you don't understand these three pillars," he said.
Meanwhile, Valente's biggest motivation to continue to perform optimally in every match comes from his father's message since he was young.
"Ever since I was very young, my father said the only way you can change your life is by making a difference on Sunday or match day," the player said.
This season, Valente played 15 times for PSIM with five goals and one assist. This performance brought the Laskar Mataram to sixth place with 27 points from 16 matches.
"My goal is to keep PSIM in the highest level league, that is very clear to me," said Valente about his contribution to the team.
