End of Emergency Response! Bener Meriah Set 90 Days of Recovery Period

BANDA ACEH - The Bener Meriah Regency Government (Pemkab), Aceh has set the status of emergency transition to post-disaster recovery for 90 days, after ending the emergency response period for flash floods and landslides.

"The determination of the status is contained in the Decision of the Regent of Bener Meriah Number 360/03/SK/2026, which is valid for 90 days starting from January 7 to April 6, 2026," said Head of the Bener Meriah Regency Communication and Information Technology Office (Diskominfo) Ilham Abdi, Wednesday, January 7.

He explained that the determination of this transition status is a strategic step for the local government to ensure that the post-disaster recovery process runs in a coordinated and sustainable manner.

"The status of transition from emergency to recovery is aimed at bridging emergency handling to recovery, especially in improving the social, economic, and infrastructure conditions of affected communities," said Ilham Abdi, quoted from Antara.

The Bener Meriah Regency Government continues to activate the command system for disaster handling, carry out a quick review of the development of the situation, meet the basic needs of affected people and refugees, and provide protection for vulnerable groups.

In addition, he said, efforts to control the source of disaster threats, repair vital facilities and infrastructure, and early recovery of the social and economic community, are also the main focus of the local government.

Ilham Abdi added that all the series of activities were carried out by the Bener Meriah Regency Government together with related institutions, with funding sourced from the Bener Meriah Regency Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBK) and other legitimate sources in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

The Bener Meriah Regency Government appeals to the public to remain vigilant against the potential for subsequent disasters and support the recovery measures being implemented to accelerate the normalization of people's lives.
