Unilever Hands Over Sariwangi Tea Business to Djarum Group Worth IDR 1.5 Trillion
JAKARTA - PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) has officially agreed to divest the Sariwangi tea business to PT Savoria Kreasi Rasa, a company under the Djarum Group.
The agreement was marked by the signing of a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Based on the disclosure of information submitted by the company on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, the completion of this transaction is targeted for March 2, 2026 with the agreed purchase and sale value of the Sariwangi tea business of IDR 1.5 trillion, with an estimated market value of IDR 1.48 trillion.
"Transaction Value: The agreed price is IDR 1,500,000,000,000 excluding applicable taxes. An independent business valuation has been carried out by the Public Appraisal Service Office Suwendho Rinaldy and Partners with a market value of IDR 1,488,228,000,000," said UNVR Corporate Secretary Padwestiana Kristanti, quoted from Disclosure Information, Wednesday, January 7.
Meanwhile, the value of Sariwangi's sales is equivalent to around 45 percent of Unilever's total equity based on the financial statements as of September 30, 2025. Meanwhile, the tea business assets reflect approximately 2.5 percent of the company's total assets.
In terms of performance, Sariwangi contributed around 3.1 percent to Unilever's net profit and contributed around 2.7 percent to operating income.
However, management emphasized that this transaction did not have a significant impact on the company's operations or business continuity.
"The transaction will not have a material impact on the Company's operational, legal, and business continuity activities," he said.
Through this corporate action, Unilever plans to realize the value of its investment in the tea business and redistribute it to shareholders in the short term.
Going forward, the company will focus on developing its core business to create long-term value for shareholders.
