Konut Regency Fired 17 ASN who Violated Discipline and Involved in Corruption

KENDARI - The North Konawe Regency Government (Pemkab), South Sulawesi Province (Sultra), fired 17 state civil servants (ASN) who were declared to have violated discipline and involved in corruption.

Deputy Regent (Wabup) for Housing Abuhaera said the total of 17 ASN consisted of 14 ASN who were given the sanction of dismissal without honor (PTDH), while the other three were given the sanction of dismissal with honor without their own request (PDH TAPS).

"Yes, it is true that 17 ASN were dismissed, 14 people due to legal cases of criminal corruption, three of whom were indisciplined or neglected their duties and responsibilities as ASN," said Abuhaera as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 7.

He said that the sanctions were given to the ASN as a form of commitment from the Konut Regency Government, in enforcing discipline and maintaining integrity in the bureaucracy. This dismissal has officially taken effect since January 2, 2026.

Abuhaera explained that this step was taken to provide a deterrent effect, considering that the status of ASN is still a profession that is very sought after by the public.

According to him, being a servant of the state is not just about welfare, but about great responsibility and absolute compliance with state rules.

"This dismissal step is also a concern for ASN in the scope of the Konut Regency Government, considering that every year thousands of people compete to participate in the selection of civil servants (CPNS) or government employees with work agreements (PPPK)," he said.

Abuhaeramengungkapkan pemecatan belasan pegawai ini didasarkan pada payung hukum yang kuat, terutama Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2023 tentang Aparatur Sipil Negara (UU ASN).

"This regulation details the reasons for dismissal, both for criminal acts and serious disciplinary violations which are further regulated in PP Number 94 of 2021 concerning the Discipline of Civil Servants," he said.

The Konut Regency Government, he said, hopes that this internal cleaning can improve professionalism and the quality of public services in the area.

Abuhaera asked all levels, both civil servants and PPPK, to continue to maintain work ethics and not to be involved in actions that are detrimental to state finances.
