Bogor prepares for Trem transportation, the City Government collaborates with PT INKA

BOGOR - Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim emphasized the commitment of the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) in the development of mass transportation based on trams in Bogor City.

This was conveyed after he made a working visit to the railway manufacturing industry of PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA) Banyuwangi which is located on Jalan INKA Banyuwangi Lingkar, Banyuwangi Regency, Tuesday, January 6.

Dedie Rachim said that the presence of the Bogor City Government at PT INKA Banyuwangi was a manifestation of the seriousness of the local government in developing a reliable and sustainable urban railway system.

"Today the Bogor City Government together with the ranks are present directly at the Indonesian railway industry factory, PT INKA in Banyuwangi, to show the commitment of the Bogor City Government that the urban railway system that will be built in Bogor City certainly requires support from domestic industries," said Dedie Rachim.

He emphasized that the Bogor City Government has placed great trust in the national industry in supporting the development of mass transportation based on trams in Bogor City.

"We are confident and believe that the domestic industry, in this case PT INKA, can support Bogor City in realizing a modern urban transportation system in the future that can really be relied on and able to answer future challenges, especially in Bogor City," he explained.

Dedie Rachim said that the development of mass transportation based on trams is part of the Bogor City Government's efforts to present an environmentally friendly, efficient, and integrated public transportation system.

Later, the route of about 2.2 km that will be tested, including crossing the Square, Jl. Kapten Muslihat, Jl. Ir H. Juanda, Sempur, Pajajaran, Tugu Kujang, Otista, BTM, SMAN 1, Kapten Muslihat, and back to the Square.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT INKA, Eko Purwanto, welcomed the working visit of the Mayor of Bogor and his entourage to the PT INKA Banyuwangi facility, which is the latest railway factory owned by PT INKA.

"We are very grateful, today is quite extraordinary, Mr. Mayor of Bogor together with the ranks came to Banyuwangi, the new INKA factory, and the Mayor and his entourage could see the manufacturing process and the industrial process of making trains at PT INKA," said Eko.

He emphasized PT INKA's readiness to support the Bogor City Government's plans, including the development of battery-based tram technology.

"We from PT INKA are in line with the commitment to develop this railway transportation industry, in line with the ideals of Mr. Mayor of Bogor, such as the battery tram plan. In terms of technology and access, we are ready to support and will continue to discuss so that this can be realized, because this is for the future of us all," he concluded.
