One Year of MBG Walking, Serap More than 780 Thousand Workers
JAKARTA - The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program which started on January 6, 2025 has now entered its first year of implementation and has managed to empower more than 780,000 workers.
"More than 780,000 workers have been absorbed and active in kitchen operations, ranging from the preparation of raw materials to food distribution," said Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 6.
Dadan explained that the presence of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) not only increases the capacity of the kitchen, but also provides economic opportunities for local communities, strengthens the economic resilience of families, and builds skills in the food sector.
"The SPPG service, which started on January 6, 2025, initially only had 190 SPPG. Until the beginning of January 2026, as many as 19,188 SPPG have been operating and reaching 38 provinces," he said.
He added that as many as 55.1 million beneficiaries have felt MBG for better nutrition.
"This program is very supportive of the growth and development of toddlers and schoolchildren, maintaining the health of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and preventing stunting as the foundation for realizing the golden generation of 2045," he said.
For schoolchildren, MBG will start on Wednesday (8/1/2026). Therefore, each SPPG is asked to continue to prepare and carry out standard operating procedures (SOP) well.
In the one year period serving MBG, BGN also received appreciation from various parties, including for dedication and synergy in strengthening the implementation of public services in the economic sector, the maturity of the Goods/Services Procurement Work Unit (UKPBJ) proactively, to transparency of public information to the public.
