Janice and Aldila meet in the ASB Classic 2026 Quarterfinals

JAKARTA - Indonesian tennis stars Janice Tjen and Aldila Sutjiadi met in the quarterfinals of the women's doubles event at the 2026 ASB Classic WTA 250, which took place in Auckland, New Zealand.

Janice and Aldila were compact to qualify for the last eight of their first tournament of the year with their respective partners on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Janice, who paired up with American tennis player Caty McNally, secured a ticket after stopping the pair of Magali Kempen/Anna Siskova (Belgium-Czech Republic) with a final score of 7-5 and 7-5.

In addition to appearing in the doubles sector, Janice also actually played in the women's singles sector. However, the journey of the 23-year-old tennis player was planted by Sonay Kartal from England in a duel that lasted three sets 1-6, 7-6(4), and 3-6.

In another match, Aldila, who partnered with Makoto Ninomiya from Japan, extended their journey thanks to a victory against Panna Udvardy/Veronika Erjavec (Hungary-Slovenia) in a straight two-set match 7-6(5) and 6-4.

Aldila/Makoto was originally scheduled to face the Colombian-American pair, Camila Osorio/Peyton Stearns, in the first round. However, the match was canceled so they also went down against Panna/Veronika.

The clash between Janice/Caty against Aldila/Makoto is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Their match is held at around 10.30 WIB.

Last season, the Janice/Aldila duo managed to produce a title at the Chennei Open. In the same tournament, Janice also managed to lock in the title from the women's singles sector.

The two then helped the Indonesian tennis team win gold medals in the women's doubles and women's doubles at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games. The Indonesian tennis branch closed its journey there with three gold medals.
