KAI Logistics Manages 138,761 Packages of Goods During Christmas, Volume Grows 10 Percent
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) recorded positive performance during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) period.
Through the retail goods delivery service, KAI Logistik manages 138,761 boxes with a total volume of more than 3,000 tons to support the distribution of community logistics in various regions.
This achievement shows an increase of around 10 percent compared to the previous year's Nataru period. In Nataru 2024/2025, the volume of shipments was recorded at 2,789 tons, while in the Nataru 2025/2026 period it increased to 3,073 tons.
Director of Business Development of KAI Logistics Aniek Dwi Deviyanti said that during the Nataru service period which took place on December 18, 2025 to January 4, 2026, there was a significant spike in peak shipping times.
This increase, he continued, reflects the increasing public confidence in KAI Logistics services, especially retail services which play an important role in the momentum of the long holiday at the end of the year.
"During this period, the volume increased by 40 percent during peak delivery compared to regular days, with deliveries dominated by packages and motorcycles," Aniek said in an official statement, Tuesday, January 6.
He detailed that the delivery of packages reached 1,882 tons, followed by the delivery of motorcycles of 1,067 tons. In addition, KAI Logistics also serves the delivery of animals of 78 tons as well as various types of goods such as bicycles, plants, electronic goods, and documents with a total of around 46 tons.
According to Aniek, the increase in the volume of shipments is inseparable from the increase in mobility and community activities during the year-end holidays.
The momentum of the student semester break and the high movement of tourists also encouraged the use of retail delivery services.
"This service is used by the community to send various personal needs, both to their hometowns and to tourist destinations," he said.
In addition to these factors, the policy of restricting passenger baggage on trains has also been a driving force behind the increased use of retail logistics services.
With a maximum limit of free baggage of 20 kilograms (kg), KAI Logistik's retail delivery service is an alternative for passengers who carry excess goods or souvenirs after traveling.
In terms of destination, shipments during the Nataru period were dominated by major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, DI Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo, and Bandung.
To maintain the smooth distribution to these regions, KAI Logistics took a number of anticipatory steps in operational aspects.
One of them is through the addition of transport capacity of up to 20 tons per day which is allocated 10 tons each for the North Railway and the Central Railway on certain dates during the peak period of late December.
In addition to capacity additions, the company is also optimizing the distribution network through the strengthening of the trucking fleet, the use of digital technology through the KAI Logistik TRAX application, and the expansion of the service reach which now reaches 284 Service Points.
"In the future, KAI Logistics will continue to strengthen services and innovate to support community logistics distribution, especially during periods of high demand, while contributing to a sustainable national logistics system," concluded Aniek.
