Alaska Sirait Makes High School Story an Inspiration in the Song Good For You

JAKARTA - After successfully debuting with the single I Want To Be The Sun which invites listeners to dare to dream, young singer and songwriter Alaska Sirait is back with her second work titled Good For You.

If his first song was filled with spirit and light of optimism, this time Alaska presents a softer and reflective side, discussing about parting and maturity in the process of growing.

Runner Up I Gadis Sampul 2023 wrote the lyrics of the song in a time of change, when many things in her life were transitioning. The inspiration for this song came after she read a book that tells the story of a couple who chose to break up so that they could grow individually during college.

According to Alaska, this is a decision that he considers as a beautiful form of maturity.

"I was moved because the story felt so close to reality. Sometimes sincere love is seen from the courage to let go," said Alaska in a written statement, January 6.

The song is also a reflection of his personal experience as a teenager who is growing up. He wrote this song at the end of high school, when relationships with friends began to change where some of his friends were getting closer, some were slowly moving away.

"Sometimes life forces us to move on, even from important things. But it's from there that we learn to grow," he added.

Written by Alaska himself with the help of the Voice Memos and Notes apps on his phone, the song was produced by Heston Prasetyo and mastered by Johanes Abi. 'Good For You' presents a soft and honest feel that reflects Alaska's introspective side, proving that simplicity can bring about a strong emotional depth.

Through this song, Alaska hopes that listeners will find comfort when facing separation and life changes. "I want this song to be a friend for anyone who is learning to let go. Because sometimes, parting is not the end - but the beginning to find the best version of ourselves," he concluded.
