Prabowo Emphasizes Again the Strategy of National Transformation

President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his government's big vision, the points of which are summarized in the book "Nation Transformation Strategy" at the second volume of the Red and White Cabinet retreat at the Garuda Yaksa Training Center, Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java.

The substantive points of the "National Transformation Strategy" were then re-explained in the 2026 New Year Briefing by President Prabowo Subianto to all members of the Red and White Cabinet, heads of agencies, heads of institutions, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, the Attorney General, and the chief of staff of the three matras of the TNI.

During the briefing, President Prabowo emphasized that national independence in various sectors is one of the basic points in the national transformation strategy.

"The Indonesian nation must be independent. No nation is free if it cannot guarantee food for its people," said the President to his aides in the Cabinet and all state officials present.

Therefore, some priority programs implemented by the government to build national independence are food self-sufficiency and energy self-sufficiency.

According to the President, dependence on imported supplies in the midst of global conflict dynamics and world uncertainty is a major risk to national sovereignty.

"Initially it was rice because rice is our staple food, but what is said to be food self-sufficiency is not only rice. Corn, cassava, and others. Food self-sufficiency means carbohydrates and protein. We must also be protein self-sufficient," said Prabowo.

The President emphasized that energy self-sufficiency is also no less important in efforts to build national independence.

"So, if we depend on other nations for our energy, it is impossible for us to prosper, it is impossible for us to get out of poverty. Enough, this strategy has been justified by the dynamics of the world. We can imagine, if we are not self-sufficient in rice, in the midst of conflicts everywhere, the source of our rice imports was Thailand and Cambodia, and Vietnam. Now, Thailand is at war with Cambodia, after the war, negotiations, ceasefire, peace, it erupted (war, red.) again," said President Prabowo in his early year briefing.
