Bimbim Says Slank's New Album Will Be Full of Controversy
JAKARTA - After enlivening the music world with a new single titled Republik Fufufafa, Slank is preparing to launch the 26th album which will be released this January.
The upcoming album will feature a lot of social-political criticism. Drummer and Slank's frontman, Bimbim, even said the album was full of controversy.
"This is a controversial album," said Bimbim, appearing in the latest episode of the PWK podcast hosted by Gofar Hilman.
"Slank always captures life, this has not been released for two years, which means (problems) the last two years, such as political, social, love problems in Indonesia, yes it is there," he continued.
As the lyricist for most of Slank's songs, the 59-year-old musician also mentioned many interesting ideas that were poured into the album.
"And there are many ideas that are out of the box in the lyrics," he said.
Meanwhile, Slank's 26th album will be released first on digital streaming platforms, with plans to release the physical album later.
"We want to get out of digital first, but for collectable, it will be printed on CD, cassette, and vinyl," concluded Bimbim.
