Visit Kalibaru Elementary School Students Victims of MBG Car Collision, Rano Karno Demands Recovery Not Half-and-half
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno visited the residence of two students who were victims of a car accident delivering Free Nutritious Food (MBG) at SD Negeri Kalibaru 01, North Jakarta.
The two students are Muhammad Fillio Dinata alias Lilo and Weuren, who were victims of the incident on December 11, 2025.
The visit was made by Rano to ensure the condition of the victims after the accident and provide direct support to the family. He said that some of the students who had been treated had returned home and were now under the supervision of their families and medical personnel.
"Alhamdulillah, some of the children have returned home. At the time of the incident, I didn't have time to visit because it coincided with the preparation for Christmas and New Year. However, today I make sure they still get support," said Rano at Lilo's residence, Tuesday, January 6.
Rano admitted that he had his own emotional closeness with Lilo. It started with the story of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung who first visited the victim at the hospital. In a state of not being fully conscious, Lilo is said to have asked about Rano Karno's whereabouts.
"The Governor said that Lilo had been looking for me. In a state of not being fully conscious, he still remembered and asked 'Where is Deputy Governor Bang Doel?'. This was quite a burden for me and became the reason to give immediate encouragement," said Deputy Governor Rano.
In addition to Lilo, Rano also paid special attention to the condition of Weuren who still needs further treatment due to a bone injury. He asked that Weuren be hospitalized again until he was completely recovered so that his recovery process was not hampered.
"Now Weuren lives with her grandmother. If you have to go back and forth to the hospital, it will certainly cost money and time. Therefore, I ask that he be treated until he is completely healed, so that he can go back to school later," he said.
Rano said that his experience as a former UNICEF ambassador also shaped his sensitivity to issues of child protection and recovery, especially those who are victims of disasters.
Meanwhile, Lilo's father, Erwin Dinata, said his son's condition was gradually improving even though he still had to undergo a follow-up surgery. Currently, Lilo is still using a pen on his face and wires in his mouth as part of the medical recovery process.
"In the future, there are still the second and third stages of the operation. In the sixth month, the pen on the face is planned to be removed," said Erwin.
In front of Rano, Lilo admitted that he was happy to receive a direct visit from the figure he admired. He hopes to recover soon and return to school with his friends.
"I'm happy that the Deputy Governor came to the house. I ask for his prayers so that he can get well soon and go back to school," said Lilo.
Lilo's mother, Siti Hadijah, said her son really admired Bang Doel's figure. The presence of Rano Karno at home, according to him, gave additional encouragement for Lilo to recover soon.
"He likes to ask, 'Why is he called Bang Doel, Ma'am?' That's why when the Deputy Governor came, he was very happy, he hopes Lilo will recover quickly, be more energetic, and be able to go to school as usual," he said.
