Setyo Budiyanto Leaves Message When Submitting Rp10 Million Worth of Corruptor Assets to the Ministry of Home Affairs: It Still Comes from the KPK
JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto asked the Human Rights Ministry (Kemenham) to list the name of his agency when using assets from the seizure of corruptors worth Rp. 10 billion which were handed over today.
The message was conveyed by Setyo at a ceremonial event at the Ministry of Home Affairs office, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta. The assets of corruption crime that were handed over were in the form of six pieces of land and two buildings that already had a hotel on top of them.
"I just want to ask that it is still written there that this is an asset from the KPK," said Setyo at the event, Tuesday, January 6.
Setyo explained that this message was not without reason but as a form of transparency.
"Don't let the impression later that oh, what is this, that. This has been officially handed over, processed, there is the Ministry of Finance, there is the KPK and all parties in the handover process," said the former KPK Investigation Director.
"So everything is clear, there is no problem anymore," continued Setyo.
Setyo said the handover of corrupt assets to the Ministry of Human Rights was indeed his ministry's priority. Because, the KPK knows that the new ministry in the era of President Prabowo Subianto needs a place, in addition to regional offices, but also a training place.
"It is hoped that with this educational place, there will be a better process in matters related to human rights. There is no discrimination anymore," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Human Rights Mugiyanto said the assets were worth around Rp. 10 billion. The building will be used for a human rights development center.
"The fair value of Rp. 10,868,627,000 will be used by the Ministry of Human Rights, especially as a place for the human rights development center," he concluded.
