Update On COVID-19 As Of 28 May: New Cases Of 5,862 From Examination Of 110,682 Specimens
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 110,682 specimens were examined with the results that there were 5,862 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,803,391 people and today's active cases have increased by 229 to 98,704 cases," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, May 28.
Cases recovered today increased by 5,370 cases, so that a total of 1,654,557 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 193 people and a total of 50,100 people.
The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 1,206 cases and a total of 311,067 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 668 new cases with a total of 197,148 cases. DKI Jakarta has 602 new cases and a total of 472,371 cases. Then, Riau has 503 new cases and a total of 50,414 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 921 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 908 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 543 recovered cases, and West Nusa Tenggara with an additional 507 recovered cases.
There are three provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were North Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 16,483,519.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 14.81 percent," he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 103,383 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Currently, 16,000,947 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 10,486,399 vaccines in the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
