Grab Launches New Feature, Safe-Flexible Mobility Service for Families
JAKARTA - Grab Indonesia presents the latest innovation in the digital transportation service sector by launching GrabKeluarga, a feature designed to support safe, flexible, and integrated mobility for all family members.
This launch also confirms Grab's strategy in strengthening the ecosystem of services based on the needs of Indonesian families.
The launch of GrabKeluarga is driven by the high demand for reliable transportation solutions in the midst of increasingly crowded daily routines.
Grab's internal data notes that more than 50 percent of users in Indonesia are used to booking trips for other family members, while around 62 percent of users want a Grab account that can be connected between family members to ensure the safety and comfort of the trip.
Grab Indonesia Chief Executive Officer, Neneng Goenadi said, GrabKeluarga is present to provide convenience and peace of mind for users in managing daily family mobility.
"GrabKeluarga is here to provide peace of mind for users, as well as make it easier for all family members to be more active and connected. The presence of this feature emphasizes Grab's commitment to continue to bring innovations that focus on the needs of Indonesian families," said Neneng.
Through the GrabKeluarga feature, users can manage family travel in one Admin account. Available facilities include booking trips for family members (book on behalf), real-time monitoring of trips (ride monitoring), centralized payment in one account (bill to admin), and direct communication with driver partners through a three-way chat feature.
This feature is intended to support various daily mobility needs, ranging from school trips, work activities, sports activities, to other routine needs, while easing the role of parents - especially mothers - in organizing family activities.
In terms of security, Grab ensures that every trip through GrabKeluarga is equipped with various layers of protection that are already available in the Grab application, such as AudioProtect, Share My Ride, and the Emergency Button for quick access to assistance in emergency situations.
Director of Mobility & Logistics Grab Indonesia, Tyas Widyastuti, emphasized that safety and ease of transaction aspects are the main focus of the development of this feature.
"Security, payment convenience, and reliable transportation access are the main considerations for family mobility. Through GrabKeluarga, we want to help users stay connected and feel calm even if they can't always accompany family members directly," he said.
To use GrabKeluarga, users simply invite family members via a link or mobile phone number, then make sure the invitation is accepted and activated in the Grab application.
GrabKeluarga is now available for all Grab users in Indonesia through the latest app update.
This innovation is expected to strengthen Grab's position as a digital mobility service provider that is not only oriented towards individuals, but also towards the needs of the family as a whole.
