Police Investigate 15 Witnesses of the Murder of a Family in Situbondo
JAKARTA - The Situbondo Police, East Java, have asked 15 witnesses to reveal the alleged murder case of three people who are still one family.
"Currently we are still conducting in-depth investigations, initially five witnesses were asked for information, one of them was the victim's father, and currently there are 15 people who have been asked for information," said Head of the Situbondo Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKPAgung Hartawan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 5.
The three murder victims are Muhammad Hasim (58) and his wife, Suningsih (38), and his daughter, Umi Rahmania (18).
They were found dead inside their house in Dusun Watuketu, Demung Village, Besuki District, on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at around 07.00 WIB.
Regarding the results of the autopsy from the RSUD dr. Abdoer Rahem Situbondo, he said the three victims died due to respiratory failure and loss of a lot of blood so that the oxygen supply to the brain stopped.
"The results of the autopsy from the hospital, the three of them died of too much blood loss from the wound (due to sharp weapons) in the neck," said Agung.
The police are also still waiting for the results of the crime scene investigation (TKP) conducted by the Indonesian Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) Identification Team as well as the results from the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) of the East Java Regional Police a few days ago.
The three victims of the alleged murder were found dead with their necks injured by sharp weapons.
The bodies of the victims Suningsih and her daughter, Umi Rahmania, were found inside the room, while the body of Muhammad Hasim, who also had a sharp weapon cut on his neck, was found between the bathroom and the kitchen of his house.
At the scene, in addition to securing a knife that was in the bathroom, the police also secured five mobile phones.
