Prabowo touched by Indonesia ranked first in happiest people

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his sadness over the results of a global survey that placed Indonesia in first place in the world in terms of people's happiness.

When giving a speech at the 2025 National Christmas Celebration in Jakarta, Monday, he revealed that the survey was conducted by Harvard University and the Gallup research institute in almost 200 countries to measure the level of public happiness.

"The country whose people, after being asked, answered that the people are happy, the number one country in the world that says its people are happy is the Indonesian nation," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 5.

The results of the survey, according to him, are very moving, because most Indonesians still live a simple life and are not yet fully prosperous economically.

"What we have to admit is that the situation is not prosperous. But if you ask, he still says he is happy, this is confusing for other nations and touching for me," he said.

The President emphasized the importance of gratitude and national unity in the midst of a global situation that is currently marked by turmoil, conflict, and war in various regions.

In the midst of this situation, Prabowo invited all Indonesian people to be grateful because the Indonesian nation has so far remained in a peaceful state.

"In fact, in the midst of a world full of uncertainty, full of turmoil, war everywhere, we should be grateful that our nation has experienced a peaceful state to this day," said the president.
