Illegal Parking in North Jakarta Still Flourishes, Officers Take Action
JAKARTA - The North Jakarta Transportation Service (Sudinhub) will immediately take firm action against illegal parking in the administrative area so that no more roads are used to park vehicles.
"The existence of vehicles parked carelessly or taking up the road body causes congestion," said Head of the North Jakarta Transportation Service Rudi Saptari Sulesuryana, Monday, January 5, 2026.
In addition, he added that illegal parking also caused a reduction in road capacity and caused long vehicle queues.
"This also endangers motorists who pass through the road," said Rudi.
For this reason, his party is also committed to regulating illegal parking, including by continuing to patrol and taking action against illegal parking in the North Jakarta area.
According to Rudi, this action can be carried out by towing vehicles to the Operation Cabut Pentil (OCP) which aims to provide a deterrent effect to drivers who often park their vehicles carelessly.
He emphasized that the action had been routinely carried out and would continue to be carried out on an ongoing basis, especially in a number of locations prone to illegal parking.
Previously, Sudinhub North Jakarta held a Operation to Remove Pentils and Transport Nets in the Danau Sunter area on Sunday (4/1) because a number of two-wheeled vehicles were parked carelessly on the road.
In fact, parking lots and parking officers have been prepared at the location.
Sudinhub North Jakarta then received reports related to illegal parking from residents and immediately went to the location in question and carried out a crackdown by transporting and removing the steering wheel of vehicles that were parked illegally in the area of South Danau Sunter and East Danau Permai.
"After the enforcement, we directed residents to park their vehicles in the parking lot that has been provided at the Sunter Sports Hall," said Rudi.
