Launch Visa Debit Card to 200 Countries, Pramono: First Step in Transforming Bank Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung together with Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno officially launched the Bank Jakarta Visa Debit Card. This launch is said to be the initial part of Bank Jakarta's transformation to expand services to a global level.

The Bank of Jakarta Visa Debit Card allows customers to make transactions on an international network that reaches more than 200 countries. This cooperation with Visa is considered a new direction for Bank Jakarta in expanding cross-border transaction services.

"This shows that Bank Jakarta is managed more professionally. By working with Visa, transactions can be carried out anywhere," said Pramono in South Jakarta, Monday, January 5.

Pramono said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government gave full confidence to the Bank Jakarta board of directors and commissioners to manage the bank without intervention. According to him, trust is an important foundation in building a regional bank to be managed professionally and competitively.

With Visa's global scale network, Pramono hopes that Bank Jakarta's services can be more reliable, secure, and make it easier for people to transact, including abroad.

"Hopefully with this cooperation, we all feel confident that the Bank of Jakarta Visa Debit Card can really be trusted for a global class," said Pramono.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity and reliability of the banking system so as not to cause technical problems that could undermine public confidence. Pramono expressed optimism that Bank Jakarta could grow into a more competitive bank as professionalism is strengthened.

In addition, Pramono hopes that Bank Jakarta can play a bigger role in supporting the digitization of public services, including the integration of transportation payment systems managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The integration is considered to strengthen Bank Jakarta's database as a capital for future development.

"If the entire transportation system can be integrated with Bank Jakarta, then the strength of the database will be very large and become an important asset for the bank's future development," he explained.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, continued Pramono, also continues to coordinate with Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to ensure that the Bank Jakarta transformation process is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
