Kocak Pandji Pragiwaksono's Story Pergoki "Intel" During the Mens Rea Show

JAKARTA - Indonesian comedian, Pandji Pragiwaksono, recently shared a unique and tickling experience when he held a stand-up comedy show titled Mens Rea.

In a conversation on Rory Asyari's YouTube channel, Pandji revealed that his performance was not free from the surveillance of security forces, or what is commonly called "intelligence".

Pandji explained that in every performance, he imposed very strict rules for the audience not to take out their cellphones or record the course of the event. This is not without reason.

"I know because in my show people are not allowed to take out their cellphones, because they are afraid of recording. Because it's a joke if you keep recording it and posting it out of context, it's a problem," said Pandji, quoted by VOI, Monday, January 5.

To ensure that this rule is implemented, Pandji deployed a team of ushers who were spread out in various corners of the audience area to monitor the situation directly.

The incident began when the "Mens Rea" show was underway. One of the ushers saw a middle-aged man who was caught filming a video using his cellphone. According to procedure, the usher immediately approached the man to give him a reprimand.

"There are fathers who say my usher is recording a video. He was arrested by the usher, 'Sir, I've been told not to record videos, please delete it'," said Pandji, imitating his staff's words.

The man was cooperative and immediately deleted the video he had just recorded. However, the unexpected happened when he opened his phone gallery in front of the usher.

When deleting the video, the phone screen automatically returned to the photo album view. That's where the usher saw an unusual sight.

"Do you know that if you watch a video again, then you delete it, you immediately go back to the album photo? When he deletes it, go back to the album photo, it's a police photo!" exclaimed Pandji laughing.

Jokingly, Pandji added that it was very unlikely that the man had a "fetish" for police photos.

"It turns out that he is a policeman," he concluded.

The "Mens Rea" show itself is known for bringing in material that is quite bold, especially related to political and legal issues in Indonesia.
