The Latest Hyundai Creta Will Be Launched in Indonesia Early This Year

JAKARTA - Entering 2026, PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia began to tighten its strategy. They prepared the latest edition of Hyundai Creta at the beginning of this year as an answer to the increasingly close and fast-moving SUV-B segment competition.

In the midst of this market dynamics, Creta is claimed to still stand firm in its runner-up position in its class, with the gap to the segment leader continuing to narrow thanks to sales growth of 2.2 percent year-on-year (YoY). For Hyundai, this achievement is not easy.

Based on data from the Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association (Gaikindo), for the category of wholesales for the period January-November 2025, the Creta facelift was sold 4,257 units. This growth was achieved when the competition was heating up and a number of models with a large share had sales corrections.

Currently, Creta is known as an SUV with the most diverse variant options in its class, ranging from Active, Trend, Style, Prime, Alpha, to N Line and N Line Turbo. The presence of the latest edition is projected to complement the portfolio, while opening up a wider personalization space so that consumers can customize vehicles with their lifestyle and daily mobility needs.

"With Creta occupying the number two position in its class. Hyundai Motors Indonesia is increasingly confident that the latest edition that we will present can answer the needs of consumers and the challenges of community mobility in the country," said Chief Operating Officer of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, quoted from official statement, Monday, January 5.

Conceptually, the latest Creta is aimed at active and progressive consumers. A number of improvements have been prepared, ranging from the design character which is claimed to appear more daring, strengthening comfort technology, to a higher sense of confidence when used for daily activities.

The short teaser that has been released through the official Instagram account of HMID at least gives an initial overview of the direction of the change. For the Indonesian market, Hyundai still maintains two engine options.

The regular 1.5L naturally aspirated (N.A) variant relies on the Smartstream G1.5 MPI with a capacity of 1,497 cc, four-cylinder in-line, with a maximum power of 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and a peak torque of 143.8 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Power transmission to the front wheels is entrusted to the iVT (CVT) transmission with eight virtual gears.

Meanwhile, the Creta N Line Turbo is equipped with a more powerful 1.5L Turbo GDi engine, producing 160 PS with a peak torque of 253 Nm. The character of the car is channeled to the front wheels through a DCT (dual clutch) transmission, with manual operation options through the transmission lever or paddle shift.
